About Us

New Horizons Network was founded in 2024 by two Florida State University undergraduate students looking to become more involved in their community. Seeing the prevalence of people struggling with homelessness in Tallahassee, they wanted to make a difference and sought out ways to assist them in their search for employment. They began hosting weekly resume workshops at the Kearney Center, an emergency center for people experiencing homelessness, and have since helped over 50 clients. Today, New Horizons Network is looking to expand with hopes of assisting more individuals in their path to regaining stability. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer please contact us!

Hello everyone! I am from Melbourne, FL and recently graduated from FSU. I have been involved in community service projects for 16 years, but New Horizons Network is my most meaningful experience by far. It gives you the chance to directly see the impact you make on each person you help and give a new start to the most underserved in our community. At each workshop, your effort can truly make a difference in peoples’ lives.

Hi everyone! I am from Ft. Lauderdale, FL and have recently graduated from Florida State University. I can confidently say that New Horizons Network has been foundational to my college experience. It is truly one of the best ways to not only get involved in Tallahassee, but also to personally connect with some of its most underserved communities. NHN has such a great cause and your efforts can help many people on their path towards employment.

Our Mission

Many individuals in our community experience housing insecurity, including people from marginalized backgrounds, those previously incarcerated, and individuals new to the United States. These challenges are often compounded by limited access to employment resources, making long-term stability difficult to achieve. New Horizons Network exists to help individuals regain stability by providing free resume support and guidance in securing employment. Through student-led, community-based workshops, we aim to empower clients with practical tools, restore confidence, and create meaningful opportunities for lasting change in their lives and across Florida communities.
